The PHOTOSCOPE is a workshop and gallery dedicated to photographic art created by the historical photographic processes, also known as alternative photographic processes. In the workshops it is all about the process. The focus is on the experimental work by stretching the limits and standards for what photography can create. Here you are the inventor and the creator. Here we embrace the unforeseen twists and imperfects which make handmade photography unique, personal and strong.
The PHOTOSCOPE gallery is showing and selling unique photographs made by dedicated artists, whom specialize in one or more photographic techniques. The scope of the gallery is the raising interest and curiosity for new ways of using the many photographic processes in arts and designs.
The name Photoscope pretty much says it all. Here is all about photography up fore investigation and wonder. The photograph is under the artistic and scientific microscope, the photoscope. The question is What does a photograph look like? Is it two or three dimensional? What is it made of? The standard ways of shooting and printing photographs are on trial here, as all possible traditional photographic techniques are aloud to be taken apart, put together and mixes in the name of photographic art.
The workshops held in The Photoscope are introduction to different photographic processes, alternative photographic processes and it is for creative participants who dare to take the processes in new directions, in their own personal creative direction.
The gallery shows photographs of alternative processes, the perfect results and the imperfect ones by photographers and artists who want to show artwork, that stretches our perception of what a photograph is.
